Supply Chain Analyst

New Berlin, WI

SUMMARY:

Participate in projects and activities across the Supply Chain, developing incumbent in the end-to-end Supply Chain, preparing candidate for leadership role in Supply Chain. Gathers data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving the organization's supply chain operations. Develops quality sources of materials and services to support multiple manufacturing sites. Negotiates supplier contracts to optimize quality, pricing, delivery, and terms, considering market and industry conditions. Implements supplier changes for cost savings. Develops and implements replenishment strategies. Develops and executes plans to optimize supplier on-time performance and inventory investment. Strong Customer focus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Obtain quotes from suppliers. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the maximum value in terms of quality, lead times, and price.
  • Identify new suppliers and develop existing suppliers.       Meet with suppliers and work towards building partnerships.
  • Work with engineering and production to identify potential material cost savings.
  • Support ERP Implementation, process documentation and improvement.
  • Lead projects across supply chain, including sourcing and internal material flow.
  • Develop plans and execute projects to optimize inventory levels based on trends and changes in product mix.
  • Implement replenishment strategies, including blanket agreements and Kanban, to optimize material flow.
  • Coordinate material requirements with production schedules and customer demand.
  • Drive improvement for on-time performance and PPM, ensuring supplier performance is monitored and corrective action is taken with suppliers not meeting performance targets.
  • Participate in new product development and cost out projects.      
  • Review requisitions, place purchase orders. Responsible for accuracy and conformance using established policies and procedures.  
  • Maintain accurate supplier/department/material files.
  • Work with inventory control to maintain accurate inventory counts.
  • Works with Production, Quality, and Engineering on NCMRs (Non-conforming Material Reports) and helps process all supplier related issues. Communicates with supplier and closes out issues (receiving all credits, etc) in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience in some aspect of supply chain, IE: Supply management, negotiations, purchasing, or planning.
  • Proven experience in ERP and MRP. Proficient in Excel and database tools.
    Professional telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of the company and suppliers
  • Effective planning and ability to problem solve using critical thinking
  • Prioritize multiple tasks with high degree of accuracy while working in a fast paced environment
  • Customer and team focused yet able to work independently
  • Demonstrated history of implementing cost savings and drive towards continuous improvement initiatives
  • Analytical ability to evaluate large and complex sources of data.
  • Proficient computer skills (e-mail, Microsoft Office products, Excel, Intranet, ERP and database)

 

EDUCATION

  • BA Degree in Business Administration, preferably with emphasis on Operations or Supply Management, or BS Degree in Engineering. Will consider years of experience in exchange for Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ year's prior supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment; purchasing, planning, or projects.
  • Professional certification (C.P.M., CPSM, APICS CPIM), or agreement to work towards certification
